We were asked to help Barbara with the personal care tasks that she was finding increasingly difficult, including help with getting dressed and taking medication. To ensure that we fully understood her needs, we met with Barbara and her daughter for an initial assessment. This allowed us to gather all the information we needed to fully meet her needs and allowed us to make a note of any risks that were present within her home.

One particular requirement that the tailored care plan had to account for was the need for consistency. Barbara had previously worked with another care provider but grew frustrated with the number of care workers she had to interact with on a regular basis. Both Barbara and her daughter also had schedules that our home care services needed to accommodate. This wasn’t an issue for our team. We’ve ensured that the 21 care visits she receives each week always take place at the same times and are attended by the same care workers so that everything runs smoothly. At their request, we also make sure that any changes with the care we provide are communicated to Barbara and her daughter, ensuring that everyone is kept up to date.
